Sri Lanka Team Cricket Board announced selection of a 15-member squad for the upcoming 2011 Cricket World Cup. Fomer Captain Sanath Jayasuriya and Chaminda Vaas not included.
SLC Board announced that the selection of the following players has been approved by the Minister of Sports for the World Cup 2011:
Sri Lanka Team Squad : Kumar Sangakkara ( Captain ), Mahela Jayawardena ( V. Captain), Upul Tharanga, T.M Dilshan, Thilan Samaraweera, Chamara Silva, Chamara Kapugedara, Angelo Mathews, Tissara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekera, Lasith Malinga, Dilhara Fernando,Muttiah Muralitharan,Ajantha Mendis, Rangana Hearth
